Data Retention Policy
Version 1.1Current Official ReleaseEffective Date: 2026-08-04 · Last Updated: 2026-08-04
Data Retention Policy
We retain different categories of data for different lengths of time, depending on why we collected it. This table reflects our current retention design:
| Data | Retention | How it's removed |
|---|---|---|
| Raw network-quality telemetry samples | 30 days | Scheduled deletion job |
| Opt-in diagnostic support reports | Until the associated support case is closed, plus 30 days | Deleted (including its encrypted content) once the case is resolved |
| Audit logs (administrative actions) | 1 year | Append-only log; not deletable by application code — see our Security & Privacy Overview |
| Security events (login attempts, lockouts) | 1 year | Same as audit logs |
| Account data (email, device registrations, license/subscription status) | Until you request account deletion | Hard-deleted upon a verified deletion request — see our Account Deletion Policy |
| Sessions (refresh tokens) | 30 days of inactivity, or immediately upon logout | Expired or revoked, then no longer honored |
Why We Retain What We Retain
- Telemetry is aggregated for the AI network-optimization engine and
is not kept indefinitely as raw samples — it exists to make near-term network-path decisions, not to build a long-term profile.
- Audit and security logs are retained for account security, fraud
prevention, and to support any legal or regulatory obligation to demonstrate what administrative actions were taken and when — see also our Incident Response & Security Notification Policy.
- Account data is kept only as long as you have an active account,
unless a longer period is required by law (for example, financial records related to a paid subscription).
Backups
Backup automation for this platform's infrastructure has not yet been implemented; the Executive Management Console™ accurately reports this status as "Not Configured" rather than displaying a fabricated status. Once backup automation is implemented, this section will describe how deleted data is purged from backups within a bounded time, consistent with the retention windows above.
Changes to This Policy
We will version this policy; if retention windows change materially, the updated version will be published here with a new version number.
